This week was VERY interesting to say the least. The Amber Rose Conference was held at the Bethesda Church in Fort Worth, TX and as usual, Tom Davis and his exceptional band were doing the music for the conference. Like they have done for the past few years, they recorded the music in hopes of making a live album. My brother Corey helped the sound engineer, Barry Garrett, record the music, whereas I did not do that much with Barry or Corey, aside from running the occasional errand.

The best part of the week for me, was hanging out with old friends and making new ones. There was this guy name Garon Lee who ran the monitor mix for the band, and in addition to being an awesome sound man, this guy was HILARIOUS! There is no way that I can remember all the funny things that he did, but believe you me, they were plentiful.

Anyway, I guess the big event for me, was when Tom Davis asked me to play with him for the Sunday morning service at Bethesda. Well for one thing, I love playing with Tom, so this was great for me. Well, now the fun begins.

Saturday night after the conference, my brother, and all the sound guys, and myself, worked till 2AM packing up the sound gear, so this meant that I would not be getting much sleep in preparation for playing with Tom.

Well Sunday finally got here and we start playing with Tom, and wouldn't you know that on the first song I break a string! That alone was not big deal since I was on acoustic, but what I found out later, was that because of the air conditioning, my guitar had gone almost a half-step sharp since I had tuned it last! So in all, it was a VERY humiliating experience. Oh well, live and learn.

I'll be talking to you soon. :)

  Best regards,
